Project Matrescence is fully funded by The Parenting Project and therefore free for participants. It is a closed group, and numbers are strictly limited to a maximum of 12, therefore pre-booking is essential and subject to an initial consultation with the group facilitator.
This group is intended to be a therapeutic space for mothers and therefore children are not permitted into the group encounter. Childcare can be a barrier to finding space for self and therefore support can be discussed upon request. Terms and conditions apply:
Participants must be first-time mothers living in Warwickshire, 6-12 months post-partum at the time of the programme.
Participants must be able to commit to all 6 sessions within reason.
Babies must not be brought into the group encounter and the participants agree to have childcare provision in place to support this. Childcare support can be discussed upon request.
Project Matrescence is a pilot project and therefore participants agree to provide feedback for the purpose of evaluating the success, future implementation and funding of the programme. All feedback will be anonymised.
Project Matrescence is a collaboration between Room Psychotherapy Ltd. (Www.room-psychotherapy.com) and The Parenting Project (www.parentingproject.org.uk ). Personal information may be shared between these parties, but they do not share information with outside agencies/3rd parties even with the written or verbal consent of the participant (except in circumstances stated in the previous paragraph). This is our policy and is strictly adhered to.
All participants including group facilitators agree to maintain the confidentiality of others within the group. Exclusions to this clause include disclosures of serious harm to self or others, acts of terrorism, money laundering, and fraud. In the case of such disclosures, it may be necessary to share the information with outside agencies.
Project Matrescence adheres to the policies and child protection procedures as set out by Warwickshire County Council. If a child is deemed at risk or cause for concern arises then in this instance confidentiality may be broken, with or without the knowledge of the participant.
To maintain ethical practice, it is necessary for the group facilitators to have regular supervision. Clients remain anonymous throughout supervision and this is in accordance with the BACP/UKCP ethical framework.
It is agreed that no parties will record the sessions.
